One of my favourite parts of working with makers is photographing tools, and let me tell you, leatherwork branding photography offers no shortage of chances to shoot incredible tools. From curved knives and weighty pricking forks to Alex’s custom made stitching horse, they were all so interesting to see in action as we documented the process of making one of his beautiful leather briefcases.
I’ve got another leatherwork branding photography session on the books for next month (this one focused on garments and shoes! Run by queers!) and I’m so stoked about it. Almost my entire shot list is made up of the wild machines in the shop. Can’t wait.
